Testimonial

"[In March 2005], the [Sonoma] county's Assessment Appeals Board (a quasi judicial agency charged with rendering an opinion of taxable value), found that the Assessor's estimate of electrical prices were reasonable.  Generally, the county's opinion of taxable value was largely sustained as a result.  A great deal of the credit goes to Dr. Woo and his firm in this matter." Joe Colusi, Energy and Mineral Appraiser, Harold W. Bertholf, Inc., March 31, 2005.

E3 at Work

  • Dr. Woo estimated the damage of a breach of contract by an energy service provider to a large industrial user, resulting in a favorable judgment from arbitration.

  • Mr. Horii performed forensic accounting to uncover significant over-billing by a wholesale supplier to a local distribution company.

  • Dr. Orans has provided expert testimony on transmission pricing on behalf of BC Hydro, Ontario Power Generation and Hydro Quebec.

  • Testimonies by Dr. Orans and Mr. Horii led the Texas PUC to reject the regulatory staff’s low estimates of stranded cost.
