DR. BARRY D. SOLOMON Dr. Solomon is a Professor of Geography and Environmental Policy in the Department of Social Sciences at Michigan Technological University. Dr. Solomon spent over 10 years working in Washington D.C. at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy, and also taught at West Virginia University before coming to MTU in 1995. His main research interests are economic incentives for environmental protection, air pollution, global climate change, endangered species, and energy policy. He is a co-founder of the U.S. Society for Ecological Economics, a cutting edge professional organization in the environmental policy field. He is also currently funded by the EPA to establish an environmental compliance assistance center for the chemical industry. He holds a Ph.D. (Public & Environmental Affairs) from Indiana University, Bloomington.
