C.K. specializes
in public utility economics, applied microeconomics, and applied finance. With
over 20 years of experience in the electricity industry, he has testified
and prepared expert testimony for use in regulatory proceedings in California,
British Columbia and Ontario. His current research interests in electricity
economics and finance include procurement, risk management, deregulation,
transmission pricing, and retail rate design. He has published
over 60 refereed articles on electricity deregulation, electricity procurement,
electricity pricing, integrated resource planning, the value of electricity
service reliability, applied microeconomics, and applied finance. These
articles appear in such scholarly journals as Energy Policy, The
Energy Journal, Energy-The International Journal, Electricity Journal,
Resource and Energy Economics, Energy Economics, IEEE Transactions
on Power Systems, Managerial and Decision Economics, Journal of Regulatory
Economics, Journal of Public Economics, and Quarterly Journal of Economics. Recognized
by Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Science
and Engineering, C.K. is an associate editor of Energy – The
International Journal. He is also a member of the editorial
board of TheEnergy Journal and has served as their
guest editor for a special issue on electricity reliability. He
holds a Ph.D. (Economics) from University of California, Davis.
