As a Senior Consultant at E3, Michael King’s areas of expertise include market restructuring, resource planning, DSM, and rate design. Recent project work includes assisting the state of California in redesign of the long-term resource planning process. He has assisted in numerous analyses of transmission rate issues for Canadian transmission providers. Additionally, he has conducted analyses for avoided cost estimation, provided litigation support and damages estimates for a large industrial customer, and conducted cost-benefit analysis of renewable distributed generation. His prior experience includes product management and marketing at PG&E Energy Services and in the telecommunications sector, and DSM program design and evaluation at the consulting firm of Barakat & Chamberlin. His published works are in the field of electricity deregulation. Mr. King earned his M.A. in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin and his B.A. English and B.A. Social Ecology from UC Irvine.
