Qian Luo

Dr. Qian Luo’s work at E3 focuses on power system modeling, electricity sector decarbonization, and energy policy analysis. She uses energy system models to evaluate how emerging technologies and policy interventions influence the evolution of the power sector. Prior to joining E3, Qian conducted research on electricity sector decarbonization and advanced energy technologies in both academic and national laboratory settings. Her work examined strategies to reduce power sector emissions and explored the environmental and public health co-benefits associated with these transitions. Qian has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on energy system transformation and presented her research at national conferences.

Qian’s interest in energy stems from her long-standing focus on climate change impacts since college. During an internship with the Environmental Defense Fund, she recognized the critical role of clean energy in climate mitigation, inspiring her to pursue a career in the energy sector.

Outside of work, Qian enjoys trying chocolate from different regions and baking sourdough.
