Our Climate Pathways and Electrification work supports forward-looking strategic decisions as companies and governments move to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, electrifying almost everything and decarbonizing the rest with hydrogen and low-carbon fuels.

Integrated
System Planning

E3’s Integrated System Planning work tackles the new technical challenges of a deeply decarbonized grid through rigorous analysis to support transactions and procurement in energy, capacity, renewable energy credits, distributed energy resources, and emissions allowances for utilities, local governments, and large energy users.

Asset Valuation
& Markets

The Asset Valuation and Markets group specializes in supporting first of its kind transactions for emerging technologies and new business models, both for regulated and unregulated companies.

Types of projects include:

  • Asset valuation and due diligence
  • Strategic advisory for commercial clients
  • Energy market price forecasting
  • Market design & analysis
  • DER dispatch & asset optimization

Our Application Process

Finding new team members that are a great fit is important to us, so we spend quality time in our recruiting process evaluating candidates. We are mindful that some E3 candidates will apply for positions at other firms with an accelerated schedule for interviews and job offers. All interviews are conducted virtually via a panel of 2 E3 Consultants and typically focus on analytical and behavioral interview questions.

Our Roles

Associate Consultants

  • Strong academic record
  • Demonstrable quantitative skills
  • A background showing a commitment to energy and/or climate change mitigation

Consultants and Senior Consultants

  • Advanced degree
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong project management or business development experience in the energy
    industry

Managing and Senior Managing Consultants

  • Advanced degree
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working with various stakeholders across complex energy
    projects
  • Deep subject matter expertise in a core E3 practice area

Director and Senior Director

  • Advanced degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience managing the development of new strategic projects or initiatives

Opportunities for Students

Whether you’re graduating with your undergraduate or graduate degree, we offer students a variety of opportunities to work at E3. From internships to consultant roles, you will have the chance to be involved in impactful work from day 1 and the chance to grow your career quickly.

We welcome student applications starting in September for the following year.

Hiring decisions are made as early as December.

Internships can start as early as February or as late as August.
