Yutong Xue is a Senior Consultant at E3, where Yutong analyzes electricity markets and the factors that shape the value of renewable energy and energy storage projects. Yutong’s work focuses on helping developers, investors, and planners understand how market conditions, transmission constraints, and long-term system trends affect the value and performance of clean energy assets. Yutong has experience analyzing electricity price patterns, transmission congestion, and resource expansion trends to support investment decisions and market assessments for utility-scale renewable developments. Yutong has also developed and applied large-scale power system models to evaluate project risks, including curtailment and changing market conditions.
Yutong is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to climate change mitigation through rigorous energy analysis. Yutong is especially interested in how policy, market structures, and broader societal forces are translated into modeling assumptions, and what those assumptions reveal about possible decarbonized futures. Yutong is driven by the challenge of helping to build a cleaner electricity system while tackling complex quantitative questions at the heart of decarbonization.
Outside of work, Yutong enjoys hiking and winter sports. When not outdoors, Yutong likes reading fiction and playing retro games.
