Alankar Sharma is a Senior Managing Consultant in E3’s Asset Valuation and Markets practice, where he supports transmission planning, energy market modeling, asset valuation, and M&A advisory work. He brings nearly a decade of experience in energy consulting, with a focus on the application of quantitative modeling to financial decision-making in the power sector. Alankar has supported buy- and sell-side infrastructure transactions and has deep expertise in nodal and zonal production cost modeling, transmission planning and power flow modeling. Alankar has supported successful transactions of over 5 GW of renewable energy projects and over 2 GW of natural gas projects with key developer clients, including renewable developers, multinational gas companies, investment banks and private equity funds.
Prior to joining E3, Alankar held roles in EPC-backed consulting firms and specialized in quantitative risk analytics, with broad experience in conducting transmission and power flow studies, evaluating contingency risks for system reliability studies. He has further assisted successful PPA structure negotiations for Commercial and Industrial clients, and conducted power procurement and siting analysis for data center energy procurement. Alankar has also contributed to several successful IRPs and been acknowledged for his contributions to key sections such as sub-hourly grid analysis in Tucson Electric Power’s 2020 IRP. Alankar presents a mix of financial and technical know-how.
Outside of work, Alankar enjoys hiking, skiing and planning road trips. He also enjoys getting his hands dirty with gardening and woodworking with power tools.
