Anna Jacobson is a Consultant in E3’s Integrated System Planning practice, where she focuses on long-term electricity system modeling, electrification strategy, and the use of optimization tools to support resource planning. She applies her technical background in power systems and mathematical modeling to help clients analyze complex system trade-offs in the context of decarbonization and grid reliability.

Originally from New York City, Anna was an undergraduate at Tufts University, where she earned degrees in Computer Science and Biology. She recently completed her Ph.D. at Princeton University, where her research focused on mathematical decomposition to accelerate the performance of energy systems models, advised by Dr. Jesse Jenkins. Her work evaluated the trade-offs between model runtime and solution accuracy to enable more scalable system planning.

Outside of work, she enjoys walking or swimming with her Portuguese Water Dog, April, and working on arts and crafts projects.

Education: Ph.D, Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy, Princeton University; BS, Computer Science and Biology, Tufts University
