Eleanor Adachi

Eleanor Adachi is a Senior Consultant in E3’s Integrated System Planning practice, where she supports utility and public agency clients with regulatory analysis, power system modeling, and policy-driven decarbonization strategy. She brings significant experience with California electricity markets and policies and has subject-matter expertise in resource adequacy, demand response, and virtual power plants. Before joining E3, Eleanor completed a concurrent Master’s in Public Policy and Master’s in Energy and Resources at UC Berkeley. Her research focused on optimizing electric vehicle charging load to minimize distribution system upgrades and generation capacity procurement. She previously held roles at the California Public Utilities Commission, Stem Inc., Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and solar developer Resonant Energy.

Eleanor believes that climate change is one of the defining challenges of the 21st century. At E3, she values the opportunity to provide clients with the unbiased analysis, technical rigor, and creative problem-solving needed to address the challenges of decarbonizing the energy system while maintaining safety, reliability, and affordability and promoting equity and justice.

Outside of work, you can find Eleanor exploring local trails, reading a book, shopping at farmers’ markets, or experimenting in the kitchen. She lives in San Francisco and currently serves on the board of Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) SF Bay Area.
