Megan Ahern is a Consultant in E3’s Asset Valuation and Markets practice, where she supports utilities, developers, and state energy clients in developing decarbonization strategies, analyzing policy impacts, and managing engagement across a range of energy stakeholders. She also frequently supports large load strategies and transaction diligences. Her work is informed by a deep understanding of investor perspectives, climate risk, and energy finance.
Before joining E3, Megan was a Director of Responsible Investing at Nuveen, the investment management arm of TIAA. There, she led the firm’s climate stewardship strategy, working closely with portfolio managers and energy companies on topics such as clean energy finance, hydrogen deployment, and methane mitigation. She has collaborated with organizations including JPMorgan Chase, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the Energy Council, and served as the research assistant for a book published by Nuveen’s Global Head of Responsible Investing. In 2025, Megan completed the Financing and Deploying Clean Energy certificate program at the Yale School of the Environment, where her research on data center demand and utility policy was featured in the Yale Clean Energy Forum.
Megan is motivated by her upbringing in South Florida, where the realities of climate change are ever-present. Inspired by these early experiences, she built a career focused on thoughtful, balanced decarbonization solutions across the energy economy.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys reading, running, and playing the piano.
