he / him

Henry Freeman is a Senior Consultant at E3 specializing in resource adequacy, capacity expansion modeling, and load forecasting. At E3, he has used RECAP, E3’s loss-of-load-probability model, to assess the capacity value of storage and demand response and forecast capacity accreditation under evolving market rules. At Stanford, Henry modeled the deployment of enhanced geothermal systems across the United States and implemented an iterative framework linking capacity expansion and resource adequacy models. He also developed probabilistic, weather-driven load forecasts at Ava Community Energy and brings more than six years of data science and data engineering experience from Generate Capital and Amplion, where he built data pipelines for clean energy assets and machine learning models.

Henry is motivated by helping decision-makers translate their goals and strategies into rigorous technical models, and model results into clear, actionable insights. He is particularly interested in how the power system can remain reliable and affordable as electricity demand grows, resource mixes change, and policy goals evolve.

Outside of work, Henry can be found trail running, skiing, and whitewater kayaking. He is also on the hunt for the Bay Area’s best donut and welcomes any suggestions.

Education: MS, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Stanford University; BA, Physics, Bowdoin College.
